IF TRAVELING FROM NORTH OF BIDDEFORD AND HEADING SOUTH TO VACATION HOUSE

Once on the Maine Turnpike (I-95) heading south take the Saco Exit.

       (Note: Many Tool Booths now only take E-Z Pay and therefore pay attention to which toll boots accept cash only.)

After going through the toll booth take your second exit which is located about one mile from the toll booth. This exit places you onto Route 1 South.

Turn right onto Route 1 to head south.

        (If you are renting a house while on vacation please note the convenient Hannaford Supermarket on your right

        just as you come onto Route 1.)

You will drive by many fast food restaurants, then at your third traffic light you will see Thornton Academy on your right.

At the next traffic light, Route 1 will bear to the right (one block south of Thornton Academy) but you will continue straight through this light and go through the business district of Saco.

You will cross over one set of railroad tracks and then down a hill, cross a bridge over the Saco River and then take your second left (Hill Street).

Go up Hill Street through a blinking yellow light to a traffic light (Route 9).

Turn left at the traffic light and continue for about 3.5 miles to Sea Star market (food sundries and Texaco gas). Turn left across from this market onto Hills Beach Road. 

        You will also see a sign that says University of New England (UNE).

    You will immediately begin to see the UNE campus buildings.

Take your next left at the fork in the road to stay on Hills Beach Road; if you go straight you will land back up on Route 9.

Proceed roughly an eight of a mile and you will come to two very tight curves in the road (and best to drive slowly around them as the road there is very narrow and there are many joggers and bicyclists in the area), then the road will straighten out.

Shortly after these sharp curves, you will see Breakwater Avenue, Sea Breeze Avenue, and Long Avenue on your left.  #9 Long Avenue is located on the left side of Long Avenue.

Go another roughly eight of a mile to the only restaurant at Hills Beach called Bufflehead's Restaurant (highly recommended) on the right side of the road.

Continue for seven more houses and you will see the vacation house (white stucco house on the left-ocean side) at 125 Hills Beach Road. 

Travel a bit further down the road and you will arrive at 154 Hills Beach Road on the right. 

Travel about a half mile further down the road and you will arrive at a fork in the road.  Turn right on Sky Harbor Drive, and #8 is the first house on your right.

Voila! You have arrived! Welcome to Maine! It's time! You deserve living in Maine
